Scout Recruiting LTD is collaborating with a prominent client to find a Quality Assurance Lead. You will join a dynamic and supportive team within a company that handles design, sales, manufacturing, and servicing all on one site.
We seek a dedicated and proactive individual with a solid background in quality management within an engineering context. This is a full-time role, comprising 40 hours per week.
Compensation: The salary range is between £38,000 and £46,000, depending on experience, alongside a Profit Share Bonus after one year of continuous employment. Additional benefits include 23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after five years of service, and company sick pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and uphold the company's quality protocols, standards, and specifications.
- Collaborate with operational staff to define quality procedures.
- Proactively manage and refine ISO9001 quality management systems, conducting internal audits and overseeing external audits.
- Evaluate existing policies and procedures, recommending improvements and strategies for implementation.
- Work in conjunction with various teams to address and investigate customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor and verify all products leaving the facility, ensuring they meet both internal and external expectations.
- Prepare internal documentation as necessary for warranty-related tasks.
- Engage with purchasing teams to set quality standards for external suppliers and coordinate site visits.
- Inspect incoming items for quality assurance and critical quality attributes.
- Maintain communication with suppliers for ongoing feedback and resolution of warranty and quality concerns.
- Oversee calibration records and ensure the proper calibration of equipment.
- Facilitate and coordinate internal meetings, providing relevant data to assess improvements.
- Document and track internal stoppages, advocating for long-term solutions.
Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in metal and alloy processing, inspection, and preparation.
- Strong background in quality management with comprehensive knowledge of ISO9001:2015.
- A minimum of four years in a quality-focused role.
- Expertise in conducting internal and external quality audits.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, with strong customer service and communication skills.
- A qualification in quality management or problem-solving techniques is advantageous but not mandatory.
The ideal candidate will be a well-organized communicator with strong business insight and a desire to advance the organization. Flexibility in job responsibilities and a willingness to take on additional tasks as needed are essential.
