Role Overview

Priory Hospital East Midlands is a specialized facility providing acute and intensive psychiatric care for female patients. Our establishment is designed to deliver tailored care packages, focusing on managing distressing behaviors with the support of a dedicated team of psychologists and occupational therapists.

Sapphire Ward

This is a 10-bedded psychiatric intensive care unit dedicated to females of working age. The ward excels in providing care for patients experiencing severe mental health crises, employing best practices to foster recovery.

Our multidisciplinary team possesses extensive experience in addressing high levels of patient distress, enabling us to accept admissions from various clinical environments, including other mental health wards and emergency departments.

Quartz Ward

This 9-bedded acute service caters to females of working age, functioning as an extension of NHS care pathways during periods of fluctuating capacity. Our goal is to ensure continuity of care while minimizing disruption for patients and their families.

We collaborate closely with families and a range of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) to achieve shorter hospital stays, aiming for timely discharge into community settings whenever feasible.

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Psychiatric Consultant to join our expanding and clinically diverse team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our 10-bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), with responsibilities that may evolve based on service needs and the skill set of our medical workforce.
