About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop effective care plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and delivery.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, promoting their professional development and growth.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in old age psychiatry.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months.
  • Approved clinician status and S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in old age psychiatry, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training, with a passion for education and professional development.
