Job Title: Study Skills Lecturer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Study Skills Lecturer to join our team at Global Banking School. As a Study Skills Lecturer, you will play a key role in supporting our students in developing effective learning strategies and academic skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver workshops and one-on-one sessions to students on academic skills, including writing, research, time management, and exam preparation.
  • Collaborate with subject lecturers to develop and teach study skills within the curriculum across a range of HE programmes.
  • Design and deliver bespoke courses, digital resources, and workshop plans to develop study skills in the curricula.
  • Evaluate teaching and identify areas for improvement, recommending changes to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant systems, including monitoring student attendance.
  • Participate in CPD to maintain currency in specialist areas and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Provide feedback on individual and class progress in academic writing and other relevant study skills.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree and/or a PhD in the relevant area.
  • Successful track record of teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds on HE programmes.
  • Willingness to lead a specific area of literacy development, such as reading, writing, critical thinking, numeracy, digital skills, research skills, or project and dissertation support.
  • High level of digital literacy and advanced communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Expertise in digital educational resources development.
