About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Debt Finance Director to join our team at OakNorth Bank. As a key member of our Debt Finance team, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing transactions that drive our growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Origination: Directly originate and structure transactions with the support of a global team, owning the end-to-end process from origination to execution.
  • Credit Discipline: Maintain a strong focus on credit discipline and drive customer delight through excellent service and expertise.
  • Market Building: Build the profile of OakNorth Bank in the external market, establishing relationships with key stakeholders such as SMEs, KBIs, Advisors, and Private Equity firms.
  • Opportunity Assessment: Assess organic and inorganic growth opportunities for OakNorth Bank in the market, identifying potential deals and partnerships.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial accounts, manage information, and prepare credit memorandums to support transaction execution.
  • Transaction Documentation: Ensure transactions are documented in accordance with credit-approved terms and credit sanctions.
  • Team and Individual Targets: Meet team and individual targets, including profit, credit quality, new customers, retention, and customer satisfaction.
  • Innovation and Product Proposition: Drive innovation in the product proposition to improve customer experience levels while maintaining asset quality.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain close relationships with customers and report to Credit in line with policy, in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Background: A background in front office and risk within SME Commercial Banking or Leveraged Finance.
  • Experience: Experience in originating both Real Estate and Leveraged Finance deals, with a strong understanding of SMEs or Leveraged Finance banking environments.
  • Credit and Financial Analysis: Strong credit, financial analysis, and modelling skills, including the ability to write good-quality, structured credit papers.
  • Legal Documentation: Experience in legal documentation skills and presenting credit cases internally to a credit committee.
  • Education: A degree in Finance/Commerce or equivalent.
