Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a global leader in scientific research and innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Purchasing Manager. As a key member of our Division Procurement team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures aligned with Group and Division objectives.
  • Translate Divisional business and Procurement objectives and targets to Category management teams and monitor category management contributions to these targets.
  • Deliver on key objectives, including delivery, quality, service, cost, innovation, and growth commitments for Division Procurement.
  • Coordinate business projects, such as M&A integration, and provide input for make or buy decisions, supplier selection, and vendor transitions.
  • Ensure alignment with business colleagues within the Group and Division on projects and serve as the main contact for Enterprise Processes such as Supplier Quality, Supplier Risk, and Supplier Management.
  • Gather Division business requirements and assure compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Use a 'scouting approach' to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in the NPI process, monitor product pipeline (LCM), and support product platforming.
  • Serve as a critical issue point of contact for Procurement within the Division and consolidate, analyze, and report on divisional procurement metrics for business reviews.
  • Align the Procurement strategy with the Divisional Leadership team and ensure procurement value contribution to business and support Division initiatives.
  • Engage with supplier leadership to support the CM team and Division in achieving Thermo Fisher objectives related to quality, cost, innovation, growth, and compliance.
  • Support the implementation of common processes, standardize work, and use of tools and technologies.
