The Role: Compound Discovery Technician
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Compound Discovery Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our efforts to identify novel antimicrobial compounds from microbial sources.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support to both the Screening and Analytical Chemistry teams throughout the compound discovery process.
- Contribute to the extraction of microbial samples, ensuring accurate and efficient handling.
- Master chromatography techniques, including HPLC and LCMS, for compound separation and analysis.
- Prepare LCMS samples meticulously and collect reliable data.
- Maintain comprehensive records of experimental data, sample tracking, and laboratory procedures.
- Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of analytical chemistry equipment and facilities.
- Take ownership of specific projects within the Bactobio pipeline, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to continuous learning.
Your Qualifications:
- A Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in preparing extracts from biological samples.
- Hands-on expertise with chromatography methods, including HPLC and LCMS.
- A genuine interest in biotechnology and a passion for scientific discovery.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
