About the Role

This is a full-time position within the Data Discovery and Enrichment Organisation at LexisNexis. As a Lead Data Discovery and Enrichment Specialist, you will oversee a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts. You will collaborate closely with product managers and development team members to define scope and lead execution of AI projects. You will develop and execute best practices for creating training data and evaluating output of AI models. Your expertise in the legal domain will drive insights and recommendations to the business, crucial for creating the best features and products for our customers.

About the Data Discovery and Enrichment Organisation

Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts are subject matter experts in the legal domain, playing a key role in leading the transformation of legal technology. They partner with data scientists, data engineers, and product managers to create cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions with legal data. Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts provide annotation, evaluation, and feedback to their partners, critical to the development of these solutions. Examples of the innovative AI initiatives that the Data Discovery and Enrichment Organisation works on can be found elsewhere.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Data Discovery and Enrichment Experts
  • Drive Data Discovery and Enrichment projects and results
  • Perform advanced legal research and analysis
  • Advance best practices in the creation and maintenance of training data and relevance evaluations
  • Collaborate with internal partners across various roles
  • Communicate complex information to diverse audiences
  • Lead presentations for internal stakeholders
  • Advocate for Responsible AI

Requirements

  • Be a qualified solicitor or barrister
  • Have advanced professional legal experience
  • Be competent in advanced legal research and writing
  • Have professional experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring others
  • Be a natural problem solver
  • Have a customer-centric mindset
  • Be able to lead highly complex projects
  • Have an intermediate understanding of machine learning and natural language processing technologies
  • Have significant experience using Excel, PowerPoint, and similar programs
  • Have in-depth knowledge or understanding of agile and lean methodologies
