Job Title: Clinical/Forensic Psychologist Band 8a/7

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join our team in the Hampshire Multiagency Personality Service (HMAPS). As a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in providing consultation, formulation, and intervention services to individuals on probation who have personality difficulties and are at high risk of harm to others or offending.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing psychological formulation, consultation, and training to the National Probation Service within Hampshire. You will work closely with probation officers to provide assessment, formulation, and intervention services to a caseload of high-risk individuals under probation supervision.

The role involves working in a range of NHS and non-NHS settings, including probation offices, approved premises, and community hub spaces across Hampshire. You will be responsible for providing psychologically-informed and trauma-informed services to individuals with personality difficulties, with the aim of reducing their risk of harm to others and reoffending.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation and training to probation officers on psychologically-informed ways of working with individuals with personality difficulties
  • Assess and formulate the needs of individuals on probation who have personality difficulties
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to reduce the risk of harm to others and reoffending
  • Work closely with probation officers to provide case management and support to individuals under probation supervision
Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist with post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology. You should have experience of working with individuals with personality difficulties and be able to demonstrate competencies in clinical supervision, HCPC registration, and non-clinical psychology.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and have a valid HCPC registration.
