Electrical Craftsperson Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Craftsperson to join our team at Sellafield Ltd. As an Electrical Craftsperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the electrical and instrumentation systems that keep our site safe and operational.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities safely, efficiently, and effectively in support of plant operations.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and wear breathing apparatus, such as a respirator, and work in personal protective equipment, such as air-fed suits, PVC suits, and gloves.
  • Isolate and make safe electrical equipment, and perform fault finding and resolution.
  • Use manual and electronic information retrieval systems, and explain types of information retrieval used.
  • Read technical drawings, instructions, and manuals, and communicate effectively with a broad range of contacts.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar subject.
  • Successful completion of a recognised Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or similar subject.
  • Experience of isolating/making safe of electrical equipment.
  • Experience/evidence of fault finding and how issues were resolved, including the techniques used.
  • Able to use both manual and electronic information retrieval systems and able to explain types of information retrieval used.
  • The ability to read technical drawings, instructions, and manuals.
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to liaise with a broad range of contacts.
