About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our Addiction Services team. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership and expertise in the treatment and care of individuals with addiction issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all aspects of patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Provide consultant leadership and expertise in multidisciplinary meetings
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans
  • Contribute to the development of our recovery-oriented system of care
  • Participate in research projects and teaching initiatives

Requirements:

  • Full registration with the GMC
  • CCST in General Practice or Psychiatry (with addiction endorsement)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong leadership and management skills
