Position Overview:
As a Catering Assistant, you will work 37.5 hours weekly under the guidance of the Head Chef. Your responsibilities will include assisting in meal preparation, ensuring cleanliness and safety in the kitchen, and supporting delivery operations. This role also offers opportunities for social interaction with service users, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support culinary staff in meal preparation and cooking, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Serve meals and beverages to service users, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain proper storage practices and manage stock rotation.
- Ensure all kitchen areas, equipment, and furnishings are cleaned and organized appropriately.
- Collaborate with the catering team to uphold hygiene standards and comply with company policies.
- Communicate with dietitians regarding dietary needs and planned meals.
Qualifications:
- Relevant catering qualification (preferred).
- Understanding of COSHH and HACCP regulations.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
