Job Title: Children's Team Leader Nights

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Residential Support Worker to take on a Team Leader opportunity in our EBD Children's Residential Care Home.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting children and young people (ages 11 - 17 years) in a similar environment and be able to work a flexible shift pattern, including nights.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation's mission statement and values.
  2. Support and manage the staff team to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
  3. Undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
  4. Ensure each shift is planned and resources are allocated.
  5. Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
  6. Offer supervision and support to staff in line with Quality Standards and as directed by the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager.
Requirements:
  1. Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare or equivalent (completed NVQ | QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People).
  2. Minimum 1 year Senior Support Worker experience in a similar environment (residential EBD Home for Children and Young People).
  3. Minimum 2 year experience working in a Children's Residential setting with challenging behaviours.
  4. Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation.
  5. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  6. Understanding the needs of looked-after children including managing challenging behaviour.
  7. Full Driving Licence desirable.
