About the Role:

Sarto Thomas Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Civil Engineering to join our team in Hook. As a key member of our Civil Engineering Team, you will play a leading role in shaping the future of our infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake strategic development planning and detailed design work, specializing in providing highways, drainage, and development infrastructure advice to private sector clients and local authorities.
  • Provide technical input into the planning process, leading and coordinating detailed design, and implementing projects during the construction phase.
  • Manage multiple projects and client accounts, requiring strong time management and leadership skills.
  • Support the wider team's financial and commercial management through robust project delivery, with a strong understanding of financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues, with a focus on client care and business development.
  • Have a proven record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in Civil Engineering and Chartered status with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the legal processes, planning, design, design software, technical consents process, adoption, and contract procedures for the provision of drainage schemes, including SUDS systems and associated infrastructure for new developments.
  • Experience in technical report writing and knowledge of relevant design codes, such as Sewers for Adoption, SUDS Manual, Building Regulations, Water Industry Act, and associated guidance relevant to drainage and the water environment.
  • Ability to direct and check the use of relevant software, such as MicroDrainage and AutoCAD.
