About the Opportunity

Sarto Thomas Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Civil Engineering to join their team in Hook. As a key member of the Civil Engineering Team, you will play a leading role in shaping the company's infrastructure development and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate detailed design and implementation of infrastructure projects, including highways, drainage, and development infrastructure.
  • Provide technical input into the planning process and support the development of strategic plans for clients.
  • Manage project resources and delegate tasks to junior staff, while mentoring and supporting their professional development.
  • Support the financial and commercial management of projects, ensuring robust delivery and strong knowledge of financial and contractual aspects.
  • Liaise with highways, water, statutory, and local authorities to negotiate outline and technical approvals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying business opportunities and driving growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to deliver high-quality projects.
Requirements
  • Chartered status with at least 8 years of relevant experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Relevant qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in Civil Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of design codes, technical consents process, adoption, and contract procedures for drainage schemes and associated infrastructure.
  • Experience in technical report writing and proficiency in relevant software, including MicroDrainage and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to direct and check the use of software, with a preference for experience or interest in PDS.
