Position Overview

The Family Support Worker will play a crucial role in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, focusing on delivering a comprehensive family-centered approach to assist families with children and young individuals facing multiple, intricate challenges that cannot be addressed by a single organization in a standard environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various professionals to ensure a holistic approach in supporting families with complex needs.
  • Facilitate the provision of effective services to children and young people at risk of requiring specialized interventions or becoming under the care of the Local Authority.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding of children and young people by participating in multi-agency plans, promptly identifying risks and vulnerabilities, and making necessary referrals to appropriate Children's Social Care Services or other relevant organizations.
  • Adapt working methods to meet the diverse needs of children and families within the community through evidence-based interventions.
  • Design and implement time-limited individual or group support programs tailored to the needs of families.

Candidate Profile

  • Possession of a Level 3 qualification or equivalent, along with vocational training related to children, young people, or community services; experience in working with children and families is also beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people is essential.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage with families facing complex challenges or at risk of entering the care system is crucial.
