Job Title: Shop Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Manager to join our team at Mencap. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for leading our retail team to achieve sales targets, managing store operations, and promoting donations and sales to maximize profits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement in-store systems to maximize sales and profits
  • Represent Mencap as an efficient and charitable organization, ensuring that your actions align with our values and aims
  • Source stock from local donors and ensure effective stock management
  • Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme and maximize income through Gift Aid
  • Manage store finances, including cash handling and health and safety
  • Build and lead an effective volunteer team, providing training, development, and work reviews
Requirements:
  • Experience as an assistant manager or supervisor, with a proven track record of managing budgets and achieving sales targets
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Willingness to travel to team meetings, training events, and other retail-related activities
  • Passion for Mencap's values and commitment to promoting our retail brand
