About the Role

Mace is a leading global consultancy and construction company that delivers innovative and sustainable solutions to complex projects. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Manager to join our team in a key role that will contribute to the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Planning Manager in the implementation and maintenance of project controls processes for scheduling, including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines of project controls, as well as other project support functions, to help deliver project goals in keeping with the client's principles of trust, transparency, and teamwork.
  • Maintain an awareness of schedule interfaces with other programmes and their potential impact.
  • Plan and manage the development, change, and improvement of the client level 4 IMS and provide planning guidance to the project and programme team.
  • Identify, evaluate, and provide solutions to time-related issues and provide quality checks on the scheduling data.
  • Assist in the trend and change process, including analysis of schedule impact, generating performance indicators, and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
  • Provide fully resource programmes, produce resource histograms, resource level programmes, understand and communicate the effect on programme schedules to the project team.
  • Incorporate appropriate financial data in the programme to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team.
  • Display and evaluate the project critical path and advise the project team of the results and any appropriate corrective action.
  • Produce and maintain project baselines and execute the change control process as appropriate.
  • Produce project reports or data directly from the planning software arranging the data to align with the company accounting software.
  • Understand and report on a project using earned value analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the project team.
Requirements
  • A HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, or another related field.
  • A detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
  • A technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement, and construction methods and techniques in a UK context.
  • The ability to produce accurate, complete, and fully logic-linked construction plans.
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.
  • Experience on a major construction project. You can build lasting client relationships and provide support to strong, motivated teams.
  • Proven project management or project controls experience in a similar scheduling role in a construction or consultancy background across large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
