Position: Mechanical Test Engineer

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week

Compensation: Up to £30,000 plus bonus and exceptional benefits.

Role Overview: In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting mechanical testing to ensure products meet safety, efficiency, and suitability standards. As part of our expanding team, you will engage in testing across various products within our specialized departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site and off-site client visits across the UK and internationally.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Address customer inquiries and deliver technical support as needed.
  • Enhance your technical expertise to perform testing across diverse laboratories and client specifications.
  • Execute tests in accordance with established standards and client requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of testing results.
  • Prepare detailed project status and quality assurance reports.
  • Collaborate with the calibration team to ensure proper equipment maintenance and usage.
  • Identify and escalate any testing issues that may affect performance or quality.
  • Work closely with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure a smooth service delivery throughout the BSI supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience in a testing environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Customer-focused approach with a positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office or similar software.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies and tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards is an advantage.
