Position: Mechanical Test Engineer
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Compensation: Up to £30,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits.
Role Overview: As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and suitability of a diverse range of products. Your expertise will contribute to our ongoing growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site and off-site client visits across various regions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project statuses to ensure exceptional customer service and timely project delivery.
- Address customer inquiries and deliver technical support as needed.
- Enhance your technical capabilities to perform testing across various laboratories, equipment, and client-specific requirements.
- Execute tests in accordance with established standards, procedures, or client specifications.
- Maintain accurate and traceable records of testing results.
- Generate comprehensive project status and quality test reports.
- Collaborate with the calibration department to ensure the correct equipment is utilized for testing.
- Identify and escalate any testing issues that may affect performance or quality.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and clients to ensure a seamless service throughout the BSI supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience in a testing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
- Customer-focused approach in all interactions.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office or similar software.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Lean principles and tools is beneficial.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards is advantageous.
