As a Part Time Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller with various finance functions, including purchase and sales ledger duties, processing expenses, credit card transactions, and general administration tasks.

Key Tasks
  • Process and reconcile expenses and credit card transactions
  • Assist with purchase ledger duties, including managing purchase orders and cash book entries
  • Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate records
  • Perform banking and cashiering duties, including processing invoices and payments
  • Support the Fundraising Finance Lead with daily banking and processing tasks
  • Raise sales ledger and fundraising invoices, and monitor the accounts inbox for queries
  • Respond to queries and requests from other staff members
  • Post cash book entries onto the finance system and perform month-end journals and reconciliations
  • Manage paper filing and perform general bookkeeping and administrative duties
  • Assist with preparing year-end accounts and responding to auditor queries
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AAT part-qualified or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a similar role, ideally in accounts
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Intermediate Excel skills and ability to learn new software packages
  • Competent writing and reporting skills
  • Ability to actively seek ways to enhance knowledge and improve performance
Working Arrangements

This is a part-time role, working 22.5 hours per week over 3-5 days. The hourly rate is £14.25, and the role includes a pension scheme.

Please note that restrictions may apply on annual leave over year-end and audit periods annually.
