Financial Controller

Reed is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting systems, treasury management, and accounts payable and fundraising finance income processing.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversight of the general ledger and internal controls
- Responsibility for prompt reconciliations of control accounts, separation of duties, and compliance with prescribed systems of authorisation
- Assistance in the preparation of annual accounts, in compliance with the SORP and relevant GAAP, and liaison with external and internal auditors
- Leadership in the preparation of the annual cash flow forecast and monthly reconciliations between forecast and actual
- Bank reconciliations and posting of transactions
- Month end processes and journals
- Management of the purchase ledger function, ensuring the ledger is kept clean and at an acceptable level
- Assistance with the credit control function, in liaison with relevant service leads
- Overseeing the Fundraising Accountant role, ensuring accuracy of reconciliations between Fundraising and Finance
- Management of the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring its accuracy
- Submission of the quarterly VAT returns and VAT reconciliations
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA/ACMA Qualified or QBE
- Previous experience of working within a charity - Desirable
- Well-rounded experience across transactional accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysing
- Experience assisting with leading an accounts team
- Competence with Excel
