Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of evidence-based CBT interventions to clients in treatment at SDAS. They would be expected to hold a case load of individuals presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties, and moderate to high levels of complexity.

Key Duties
  1. The post holder will work closely with other senior members of clinical staff to enhance the quality and Effectiveness of individual CBT informed interventions offered.
  2. They will support the development of staff through supervision, training and consultation, and support the application of CBT principles to clinical work. Understanding the needs of moderate to severe mental health presentations within the context of complex environment conditions is essential.
  3. They will also develop close links with other Psychological Therapists within the Psychology Service.
Working Environment

The post-holder will be based at the Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service at Lochfield Road Primary Care Centre, Dumfries. However, they may also be required to work from our other bases across Dumfries and Galloway, so a means of independent travel is required.

Additional Information

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
