This part-time post involves working 29.7 hours per week, with a shift pattern of 4 days over 7. The salary is pro rata for part-time hours.

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Forensic Occupational Therapist to join our FCMH team. The successful candidate will work within the Forensic Community Learning Disabilities team, providing specialist occupational therapy services to individuals with complex and challenging conditions.

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist professional advice to other disciplines, carers, and agencies.
  • Engaging with the wider multi-disciplinary team and working across agencies to deliver packages of care.
  • Requiring a good knowledge of Occupational Therapy input into risk assessment and risk management, offender behaviour work, and psycho-social interventions.
  • Contributing to the evaluation and development of the occupational therapy service within their designated area.
  • Leading on departmental and team projects.
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day management of junior staff, including clinical workload and supervision of under and postgraduate pre-registration students.
  • Being involved in the education of other staff and agencies.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the HCPC is essential.
  • A driving licence is required due to the wide geographical area covered.

NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff.
