About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit Controller to join our Finance team at Irwin Mitchell. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely collection of debts and maintaining a high standard of service to our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chase all allocated overdue debts by telephone, letter, and monthly statements to clients while liaising with Partners, Fee Earners, and Team Assistants.
  • Maintain a portfolio of aged debtors to ensure timely collection and effective management of matters.
  • Collect aged debts as quickly and efficiently as possible as outlined in the Credit Control Policy.
  • Log all queries generated and deal with any follow-up action as required.
  • Deal with daily correspondence received by Credit Control.
  • Attend regular aged debt reviews with Senior Credit Controllers.
  • Update systems with relevant commentaries to ensure records are kept up to date and actions are followed up.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties to support the team as and when required.

About You

  • You will have strong B2B Credit Control experience preferably gained within a law firm or other professional practice.
  • You will have experience of Microsoft Office products (365, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word).
  • You will have a working knowledge of Elite and ARCS systems desirable.
  • You will have proven ability to manage good client relationships.
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure and work to deadlines.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail.
  • You will have a flexible and team-spirited attitude.
