About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrator at Alnwick Medical Group. As an Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice, providing administrative support to our clinical staff, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scan and read code relevant information from patient clinical records into the practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the practice scanning and coding protocol.
  • Review medical records and produce an accurate summary of the patient's medical history.
  • Sort patient records and letters.
  • Review medical records to produce a comprehensive summary of patients' medical history.
  • Ensure knowledge of the Read Codes system.
  • Input data using the Read Codes system.
  • Retrieve patient medical records and interpret data for the use of clinical staff members.
  • Audit data collection to ensure Practice standards are met.
  • Maintain patient registration and recall systems.
  • Ensure that medical records are complete and accurate ahead of each consulting session.
  • Keep a methodical system of filing allowing for the quick retrieval of files.
  • Ensure general upkeep of paper files, repairing when necessary.
  • Maintain familiarity with scanning and coding protocols.
  • Minute taking for multi-agency & in-house meetings.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post.
  • Ad-hoc administration duties & be prepared to help with cover in all departments of the Administration Team.
Requirements
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • NVQ (or equivalent).
  • Basic IT.
  • Experience working with computers, and medical records systems.
  • Experience of letter writing.
  • Experience of independent and team working.
  • Experience with working with computers, and medical records systems.
  • Previous telephony experience.
  • Experience working closely with Clinical Staff.
Desirable
  • Experience working under indirect supervision.
  • Experience of working in a GP practice.
  • Experience working with primary care.
  • Sound knowledge of SystmOne.
  • Excellent telephone manner, system knowledge & skill.
  • Previous read-coding experience.
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience working within a scanning/coding role.
