Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Control Specialist to join our team at Thames Water. As a Process Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the remote monitoring and control of water treatment processes via SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control water treatment processes via SCADA systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with the treatment process, taking corrective action as necessary.
- Respond to emergencies, such as process failures or power outages, and implement established procedures to escalate and stabilize the situation.
- Conduct water quality sampling and testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including shift logs and operational reports.
- Collaborate with other departments, including Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control, to resolve issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in procedures and asset standards, and contribute to the development of new procedures and standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in process control and SCADA operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills, with proficiency in SCADA systems and software.
- Desirable: LTO (Licence to Operate) and a driving licence.
