Job Overview

Position: Technical Estimator - Engineering

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Estimator to join a prominent manufacturing firm.


Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee the estimation process for designated projects and clients, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify necessary resources for projects, including workforce, materials, equipment, and associated costs.
  • Ensure budgetary alignment with project objectives and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with sales personnel, designers, and project managers.
  • Possess functional expertise and knowledge related to sourcing materials.
  • Prepare necessary updates and reports for senior management.
  • Maintain professionalism in all supplier interactions, adhering to company policies and procurement guidelines.

Position Requirements
  • Prior experience as an Estimator in a light manufacturing environment, ideally within the signage sector, though not mandatory.
  • Robust technical understanding and familiarity with various signage materials.
  • Ability to interpret technical CAD drawings is crucial.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure precise estimates and successful project execution.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and capacity to perform under pressure to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid working knowledge of Excel, Word, and MS Office.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Able to establish personal performance targets.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.

Compensation and Benefits
  • 20 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Standard working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • On-site parking available.

  • Pension scheme.

Salary range is approximately £35,000 to £37,500.
