Job Overview

Position: Technical Estimator - Engineering

A Technical Estimator is sought for a manufacturing firm.


Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee the estimation process for designated projects and clients, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify necessary resources for projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other associated costs.
  • Ensure alignment of the budget with the project's scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team, designers, and project managers.
  • Possess functional skills and knowledge regarding material sourcing concepts.
  • Prepare necessary updates and reports for senior management.
  • Maintain professionalism in all supplier interactions, adhering to company policies and purchasing guidelines.

Position Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in a light manufacturing environment, ideally within the signage sector, though not mandatory.
  • Strong technical acumen and familiarity with various signage materials.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical CAD drawings is essential.
  • Effective communication skills to ensure precise estimates and successful project execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of Excel, Word, and MS Office.
  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to set and achieve personal goals.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.

Position Benefits
  • 20 days of annual leave plus public holidays.

Salary range: £35,000 - £37,500
