Job Overview

Position: Technical Estimator - Engineering

An opportunity has arisen for a Technical Estimator within a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the estimation process for designated projects and clients, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify necessary resources for projects, including workforce, materials, equipment, and associated costs.
  • Ensure project budgets are in alignment with the defined scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with sales personnel, designers, and project managers.
  • Possess functional expertise and knowledge regarding material sourcing strategies.
  • Generate updates and reports as requested by senior management.
  • Maintain professionalism in all supplier interactions, adhering to company policies and procurement guidelines.

Candidate Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in a light manufacturing setting, ideally within the signage sector, though other backgrounds will be considered.
  • Robust technical knowledge and familiarity with a variety of signage materials.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical CAD drawings is essential.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure precise estimates and successful project execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT, with a solid understanding of Excel, Word, and MS Office applications.
  • Self-driven and capable of establishing personal performance targets.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving license.

Compensation and Benefits
  • 20 days of annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Standard working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
  • On-site parking available.

  • Pension scheme.

Salary range is approximately £35,000 to £37,500.
