Senior Care and Support Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Care and Support Assistant to join our team at Eastgate Residential Home in Stoke-on-Trent. As a Senior Care and Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our customers, promoting their independence and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Care and Support Assistants to deliver exceptional care and support services
  • Work closely with staff to provide personal care and support to customers, encouraging them to enhance their independence and personal potential
  • Ensure safe handling of medication and promote safe practices
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Manage and implement safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our customers

Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising a team
  • Personalised approach to care and support, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
  • Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong "can-do" attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
