Service Manager Private Sector Housing Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager to lead our Private Sector Housing Team and Private Rented Property Licensing Scheme. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and housing, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services and managing teams effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality, safety, and choice of residential accommodation in Barking and Dagenham
- Manage the Private Sector Housing Team and Private Rented Property Licensing Scheme, ensuring effective regulation and enforcement of housing standards
- Collaborate with external partners to deliver services and achieve outcomes
- Manage human, physical, and financial resources effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and budget
- Ensure governance arrangements are adhered to, including licensing of rented properties and enforcement action against criminal landlords
