Data Management Officer – REF 1113 (Data Management & Governance)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Officer to join our team in Leeds city centre offices. As a key member of our Technology and Resilience function, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our data strategy, ensuring the effective oversight and optimisation of data across the business.

About the Role: The Data Management Officer will work closely with functions and data owners to understand information needs and requirements, translating business requirements into effective queries and analysis. You will collect, clean, and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, utilizing statistical methods to extract meaningful insights from diverse sources of information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Technology & Resilience to ensure data requirements are designed and embedded across the business, including regulatory requirements, and compliance with the agreed ICT operating model.
  • Contribute to the Electronic Document Management System, ensuring an effective structure and metadata, compliant access controls, reporting, and operational oversight.
  • Monitor and analyse information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades, etc.).
  • Support the investigation and remediation of data-related problems, draft or peer support proposed maintenance or modifications.
  • Work with the Data Manager to ensure data science tooling is efficient and consistent, allowing colleagues to utilise the latest Business Intelligence technologies.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Data Governance Principles and best practice.
  • Experience & knowledge around data management techniques, including operational analytics and assurance reporting.
  • Ability to reconcile and resolve conflicting information.
  • Business Analysis tools and techniques in waterfall and agile environments.
  • Effective planning, organisational, and analytical skills with ability to work with conflicting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and numeracy skills.
  • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Effective IT skills & knowledge required for the job role.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Financial Services.
