About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our team at TransUnion LLC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our Data Management and Governance Framework and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Improve Compliance: Ensure compliance with data governance, data quality, data protection policies and standards.
  • Ensure Data Assets are Well Managed: Ensure new and existing product and data assets are well managed in accordance with the above and report on compliance.
  • Maintain the Data Asset Catalogue: Maintain the data asset catalogue.
  • Maintain and Mature the Data Ownership Framework: Maintain and mature the Data Ownership Framework. Proactively engage Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Users to ensure they are adequately supported and trained in their roles.
  • Collaborate with Data Teams: Collaborate closely with Data Privacy and Data Quality teams.
  • Contribute to Data Lineage and Business Glossary: Contribute heavily to building the new data lineage and business glossary, liaising with project areas and utilizing expertise from SMEs across the business.
  • Support Data Issue Resolution: Support the resolution of data issues and incidents. Collaborate with stakeholders, liaise with Global Issue Management, Compliance and Data Issue Response teams, and report/escalate to relevant committees.
  • Report on Risks and Performance: Report on risks, issues and performance to the Data Quality and Governance Manager.
  • Engage with Global Data Governance Teams: Engage with TU Data Governance teams across the global business (e.g. in Spain, US, Canada) to promote alignment and share best practice.
  • Support Junior Data Governance Analyst: Support the personal development of the (junior) Data Governance Analyst.
Requirements
  • Data Management and Governance Concepts: Knowledge and understanding of data management and governance concepts and best practice.
  • GDPR and Relevant Legislation: Knowledge and understanding of the GDPR, as well as other relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Data Quality Concepts: Understanding of data quality concepts and how to measure data quality.
  • Data Cataloguing and Lineage: Understanding of data cataloguing and data lineage.
  • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work and oversee a network of Data Stewards to meet the data governance requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a variety of technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Communication and Analytical Skills: Ability to articulate a business issue without resorting to technical language. Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Organisation and time management skills, including working to deadlines with multiple deliverables.
