We are seeking highly skilled and experienced individuals to join the Board of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE). As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of HIE and contributing to the economic growth and development of the Highlands and Islands region.

Our vision is to create a leading net zero region with a dynamic wellbeing economy, aligned with the Scottish Government's priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and governance of HIE
  • Provide expertise and guidance on economic growth and development in the Highlands and Islands region
  • Support the development of HIE's business plan and budget
  • Represent HIE at external events and meetings
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of economic growth and development in the Highlands and Islands region
  • Experience in strategy and long-term planning
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of the wider context in which HIE operates, including net zero and green recovery
  • Understanding of the housing agenda in the context of economic growth
  • Experience of working in a partnership environment
