Job Title: Research Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Manager to join our team at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). As a Research Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commissioning and management of our clinical and applied health research infrastructure funding schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement end-to-end processes to support funding calls, including developing guidance, FAQs, and selection criteria.
  • Organize and support funding committees, and oversee the contracting process for funded applications.
  • Manage contractual requests and changes, and review and feedback on annual progress reports to provide assurance on research progress.
  • Develop an annual programme of meetings to support the networking and collaboration of scheme Directors.
  • Provide flexible support to the team and community, including conducting additional administration tasks and providing a high level of support during peak work times.
Requirements:
  • A Masters or PhD degree in biomedical or health sciences research.
  • Experience of working in a research funding environment.
  • Research management experience in the NHS or HEIs or clinical trial/study.
  • Current knowledge of the UK's health and care research and policy landscape.
  • Experience in research/grants management.
