The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Operations Lead to join our team at our Wednesbury Bakery and Distribution depot. Reporting to the Distribution Site Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of our products to customers across the country.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement driver operations strategies to optimize delivery routes and schedules.
  • Manage a team of Driver Operations Team Managers responsible for overseeing a fleet of Class 2 and Class 1 drivers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and distribution management teams to ensure seamless collection and delivery processes.
  • Monitor and investigate deliveries to ensure they are made on time and in full, while maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the driver operations function.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Comply with all relevant health & safety, statutory, and legal requirements.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in distribution management within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of SAP ERP module and other relevant distribution systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Operator Licence/Tachograph/WTD regulations.
  • Transport Management CPC qualification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
