Children Residential Care Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead our children's residential care services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a home and staff team, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures the emotional and physical wellbeing of children in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Foster Positive Relationships: Develop and maintain strong bonds between children and staff, promoting a sense of belonging and security.
- Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with families, communities, and other professionals to support children's growth and development.
- Lead Recruitment and Training: Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Advocate for Children: Act as an advocate for children, ensuring their views are heard and considered in all decision-making processes.
- Nurture Children's Ambitions: Support children's learning journeys and help them achieve their goals.
- Develop Effective Protocols: Establish and maintain effective working and information sharing protocols to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Stay Informed on Care Developments: Stay up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in the care of looked-after children.
- Create a Stable Environment: Develop and maintain a stable and secure environment that allows children to address past and present challenges.
- Manage Risk Assessments: Conduct individual and environmental risk assessments and ensure effective risk management practices are in place.
- Handle Complex Behaviours: Handle complex behaviours assertively and sensitively, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and staff.
- Oversee Admissions: Manage the admissions process and support colleagues in this task.
- Develop Individual Care Plans: Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.
- Participate in Appraisal and Training: Participate in appraisal, training, and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Education and Qualifications: Degree-level education plus NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in residential care of children and staff management within the last 5 years.
- Communication and Team Working: Excellent communication and team working abilities, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations: In-depth knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
- Competitive Salary: Competitive salary of £46,549 to £49,590 per annum.
