Position Overview

Nursery: Bright Horizons Shortlands Day Nursery and Preschool

Salary: £31,023 - £39,270 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)

Location: Bromley

Company Background: We are seeking a dedicated, full-time Level 3 qualified professional to take on the role of Third in Charge at our Bright Horizons Shortlands Day Nursery and Preschool in Bromley. This facility is conveniently located near public transport, just a short walk from the train station, and a brief drive from the local high street. Our nursery has received a 'Good' rating in our most recent Ofsted inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team to provide outstanding care and education for all children
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead when necessary, overseeing daily operations and safeguarding policies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to support each child's needs
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive and safe working environment
  • Promote the nursery to current and prospective parents to enhance retention and occupancy
  • Ensure the nursery's financial success by managing expenditures in line with budgetary KPIs
  • Engage with local authorities to stay informed about community resources that support nursery practices

Qualifications Required:

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or higher Early Years qualification (mandatory)
  • Experience in an Early Years setting, preferably in a leadership role
  • Proven decision-making skills with experience in guiding and supporting staff
  • Strong understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and relevant legislation
  • Ability to foster trust and build effective relationships with colleagues and parents
  • Proficient in various communication methods for engaging with children and adults
