Job Summary:

The University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Theatre Coordinator. As a key member of the hospital's administrative team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the organization and booking of theatre lists, ensuring effective utilization and management of theatre capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize theatre lists in accordance with the availability of medical staff, ensuring efficient use of theatre capacity.
  • Manage and book appointments, as well as respond to patient queries by telephone.
  • Assist in the smooth operation of the Waiting List Department.
  • Identify opportunities to develop and improve services in line with hospital needs.
  • Enter and update accurate information on the Careflow and Bluespier systems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and manage Elective Waiting Lists to support effective patient management within national RTT targets.
  • Manage theatre appointments in accordance with medical staff availability.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, other trusts, and external agencies, applying discretion and tact when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Promote and support changes to working practices to improve service delivery.
  • Attend relevant meetings as directed by the line manager.
