Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide occupational therapy support to women and their families, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Completing specialized assessments and providing appropriate interventions to support women's recovery, functioning, and adaptation to motherhood.
  • Working as part of our band 6 team to carry out new assessments and provide care coordination to a defined caseload of women with moderate to severe perinatal mental health problems.
  • Developing and facilitating group work programs to support women's mental health and well-being.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant post-registration experience working as an Occupational Therapist within mental health settings.
  • Specialized knowledge and application of current best practice in occupational therapy and mental health.
