Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering occupational therapy services to patients on our Female Acute Inpatient ward.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver occupational therapy provision to a designated caseload, focusing on occupational performance, complex mental health presentations, risk management, and evaluating outcomes aligned to personalized care plans.
  • Implement and facilitate individual and group programs of clinical intervention in collaboration with OT assistants, activity workers, and other professionals for effective recovery and discharge.
  • Work closely with the Senior Occupational Therapist, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapy Acute Lead, Matron, and the ward multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Support the day-to-day decision-making on the ward, designated supervision responsibilities, leadership of various individual projects, quality initiatives, and service developments that support the trust strategy.

Requirements
  • Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the relevant professional body.
  • Experience working in an acute inpatient setting, with a focus on occupational therapy and mental health.
