About the RoleThe Procurement Coordinator will be responsible for purchasing and expediting the delivery of materials to meet production requirements, in line with normal scheduling procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Procure materials via our enterprise resource planning system using bills of material, material requirements planning, and purchase order requisitions for bus parts, rejects, re-buys, consumables, chassis components, and customer-supplied materials.
- Communicate purchase orders effectively to suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
- Schedule and expedite material into Wrightbus, aligning with our production schedule and demand flow principles.
- Report daily to the Product Buyer Coordinator on constraints likely to affect production, enabling proactive issue resolution.
- Manage the engineering process, purchasing new parts, analyzing existing stock at Wrightbus and at suppliers, and authorizing disposal if necessary.
- Monitor stock levels and implement strategies to minimize overstocking and optimize inventory management.
- Ensure all purchase orders are placed correctly for current production build, adhering to our quality control standards.
- Liaise with material controllers to ensure material is always available for production in line with demand flow principles.
- Liaise with suppliers on delivery key performance indicators such as delivery notes and invoice queries, kitting, and line shortages.
- Participate in vendor reviews as required, evaluating supplier performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Liaise with the Planning Department on timing issues related to Bill of Material release, ensuring seamless production planning.
- Report to Logistics and Production management teams on constraints to production due to material shortages, enabling timely mitigation.
- Collect and collate shortage sheets for line and kitting, and liaise with Purchasing/Material Controllers regarding delivery dates for shortages.
- Report individual performance and set targets for improvement, actively contributing to achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in Stock Take if required, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Work and develop relationships with the Production Management team, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management from time to time, supporting the company's overall objectives.
- 5 GCSE Grades A-C to include Maths and English or equivalent
- OR Proven extensive relevant experience of scheduling high volumes of material to meet production demands
- Computer Literate with experience of spreadsheets and databases
- Experience in use of MRP systems minimum 3 years
- Suitable experience in scheduling to a build programme minimum 3 years
- Knowledge of material scheduling in a high-volume manufacturing process
