Position Overview
Are you considering a role as a Trauma Advanced Clinical Practitioner?
We are pleased to present an opportunity within the Fracture Clinic for a dedicated and passionate individual to become part of our team, serving as a Trauma Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP).
This position is vital for trauma care within the Fracture Clinic, where the ACP will operate independently; evaluating, implementing, and assessing treatment and care, as well as discharging patients. Key clinical competencies will encompass the manipulation of fractures and minor surgical interventions within an emergency context. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance to the Emergency Department.
Comprehensive training in the Musculoskeletal aspects of this role will be provided in collaboration with Leicester Medical School, alongside in-house training and evaluation.
If you are looking to transition specialties as an ACP or are nearing completion of your ACP training, this could be a fitting opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
Virtual Assessment of Referrals - Capable of safely conducting virtual evaluations of patients referred from the Emergency Department, GP practices, or other healthcare entities, making independent decisions regarding care plans.
Immediate Patient Evaluation - Competent in safely assessing, examining, diagnosing, and managing patient care upon initial presentation. This includes, but is not limited to, requesting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and formulating a safe care plan in the patient's best interest.
Outpatient Consultations - Proficient in safely assessing, examining, diagnosing, and managing patient care during outpatient appointments. This includes, but is not limited to, clinical procedures relevant to the role, issuing Fit notes, and developing a safe care plan in the patient's best interest.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with a high level of autonomy and engage in complex decision-making, supported by a Master's level qualification. This role encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research.
Collaborative engagement with the Multi-Disciplinary Team, including the Orthopaedic Consultant group, is essential.
