Bell Group is pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to become a part of our dynamic Central Scotland team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers the chance to contribute to our projects.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor with expertise in construction contracts, refurbishment projects, or kitchen and bathroom installations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct measurement, pricing, and assessment of tenders
- Oversee projects from initial stages through to completion
- Identify opportunities to enhance profit margins
- Manage costs effectively
- Create targets for project milestones
- Prepare and analyze Cost Value Reports (CVR) and forecasts
- Administer and manage subcontractor accounts
- Generate and submit payment applications
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Professional qualification (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
- Experience in construction, retrofit, or fabric upgrades is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and design and build contracts
- Extensive background in commercial management and subcontractor procurement
- Proficient in monthly reporting processes
- A strong team player with the ability to work independently
- Experience managing both direct and subcontract labor
- Excellent time management skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to mentor and support fellow commercial team members
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Opportunity to engage in some of the UK's most stimulating refurbishment projects in a fast-paced environment
