Deputy Director of Midwifery Leadership Role

We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Director of Midwifery to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our speciality management team, you will provide operational and clinical leadership to ensure the women, pregnant people, and staff are safe, cared for, and listened to.
Main Duties- Provide managerial, professional, and clinical leadership to midwives and support staff working within the maternity service.
- Oversee the development, facilitation, and implementation of appropriate training and development programmes for midwives, nurses, and support staff.
- Work with local Higher education Institutions in the development of appropriate educational curricular to meet the needs of Midwives, Nurses, student midwives, and student nurses.
- Set the vision and be an inspirational leader to the midwifery team.

Qualifications
- Registered Midwife (currently practicing).
- Master's Degree.
- Demonstrable personal professional development.
Desirable
- Management Leadership Qualification, which has been tested in a management post.
Experience
- Proven experience of leading strategic/cross Trust changes.
- Evidence of effective working relationships both inside and outside the organisation.
- Proven experience at senior midwifery level in an acute setting with highly developed and detailed knowledge and experience.
- Significant experience of effective budgetary management.
- Significant experience and knowledge of the business planning process.
- A proven record of success in managing significant operational change while also developing and maintaining high standards of care.
- Experience of analysing and making judgements involving situations where there are a number of conflicting issues, and where there is no obvious outcome - some of which be conflicting.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Clear and thorough knowledge of midwifery issues, including statutory frameworks and national policies.
- Working knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Setting the vision and being an inspirational leader to the midwifery team.
Desirable
- Experience of participating and presenting at Sub and Trust Board level.
