QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

GHA Recruitment Ltd is a leader in advanced drive technology and systems, catering to sectors such as energy, mining, rail, and commercial vehicles. We are currently in search of a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer for a full-time, permanent role.

All new hires will undergo drug and alcohol screening as part of the onboarding process.

Quality Assurance Engineer Offer

  • Salary range: £36,000 to £42,000 depending on experience
  • Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 16:30, Friday 08:30 to 15:00
  • Annual bonus (pro-rated based on the year of joining)

Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities

  • Assist the Quality Manager and take charge in their absence
  • Help maintain the organization's Quality Management System, ensuring adherence to both national and international standards
  • Conduct internal audits and generate reports in a timely manner
  • Address Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from internal and external sources, providing support to various departments as necessary
  • Perform supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments when required
  • Oversee the calibration system and manage external calibration services
  • Support the Mechanical Inspector in evaluating machined and/or fabricated components
  • Implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce expenses
  • Control the distribution of technical documents for production
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on testing specifications and procedures
  • Deliver presentations on Quality Processes to the workforce
  • Manage the quarantine area to ensure prompt action by relevant departments
  • Coordinate workshop audits and relay findings to management
  • Develop Quality Plans and Method Statements as required

Quality Assurance Engineer Requirements

  • Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • Technical background with knowledge of engineering and railway standards
  • Significant experience in quality systems within a safety-critical engineering context
  • ISO9001:2015 Internal or Lead Auditor certification
  • Expertise in Quality Assurance methodologies and the ability to provide management recommendations
  • Capability to work with both metric and imperial measurement systems
  • Proficient in using tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Height Gauges, and CMMs (Inspect3D)
  • Willingness to operate in diverse and challenging environments
