About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our Oncology & Haematology Emergency Assessment Bay (EAB) team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical care to cancer patients and support junior colleagues in their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
  • Participate in the daily running of the department, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Take charge of the department in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.
  • Assist with the management and leadership of the department, maintaining good morale and a team approach to work.
  • Monitor workload and skill mix, plan off-duty, and ensure the ward operates effectively and safely.
Requirements
  • NMC registration.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and mentorship.
  • Experience of working in an Oncology/Haematology department.
  • Previous people/team management experience.
  • Competent in SACT administration.
