LEAD MANAGER OF LOGISTICS PROCUREMENT | ROAD & INBOUND LOGISTICS | INTERIM | HYBRID

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Logistics Procurement Manager to join a prestigious global organization renowned for its excellence in procurement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a critical inbound logistics initiative that is progressing into its second phase following a successful initial rollout.

This project encompasses various dynamic business sectors and aims to deliver substantial value across Road Transport and Inbound Logistics. A key focus will be on driving the centralization of logistics procurement across multiple regions, with the objective of maximizing commercial advantages while minimizing future risks and supply chain disruptions.

The organization offers a competitive daily rate and is looking to engage an interim professional for an initial contract period, with the potential for extension as the project evolves. This role presents an opportunity to influence supplier and stakeholder relationships significantly, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a substantial budget, managing logistics and road transport for a well-established global entity.
  • Evaluate costs and efficiencies to enhance inbound logistics related to high volumes of raw materials, commodities, and packaging.
  • Centralize both international and domestic logistics operations.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships across various regions, conducting comprehensive evaluations and managing end-to-end tenders for the logistics category.
  • Lead project management efforts over an 18-month timeframe, coordinating thousands of logistics flows and supplier interactions.
  • Analyze, forecast, and devise strategic plans to ensure effective future supply chain management, focusing on risk mitigation and cost avoidance.

Experience Required:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • CIPS or MCIPS certification.
  • Experience in Inbound Logistics, Road Transport, preferably within FMCG or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing significant logistics expenditures and leading large-scale sourcing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies in logistics procurement to reduce risks and achieve cost savings.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills, with a focus on supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in project management, transformation, and change management.
  • Analytical skills with a solid understanding of commercial and contractual risks.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and adept at complex problem-solving.
  • Relationship-oriented and capable of adapting under pressure.
