About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice at Vacancy ID: 5565. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support learners with their Welsh language and literacy skills
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
  • Support pupils with their numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills
  • Support children in various areas within the class
  • Understand the safeguarding and behavior policy and their role within these policies
  • Promote the Welsh culture
  • Work with children aged 3 to 6 years
  • Support a teacher in various roles within the classroom
  • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times whilst working in schools

Requirements

  • GCSE or equivalent
  • Must be fluent in Welsh
  • An eagerness to learn more about becoming a Teaching Assistant
  • A passion for working with children
  • Possess relevant qualities including patience and communication
  • Ability to show professionalism at all times
  • Ability to listen and learn from more experienced staff

Desirable Qualities

  • Any previous experience working with children
  • Any previous experience with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Strong Welsh, English, and Mathematics
  • Communicational skills relevant to both children and adults
  • Competent skills in numeracy, literacy, and ICT
  • Ability to self-manage and organize own time

  • Professional attitude
  • A level of maturity with working in a school environment will be required

Training and Development

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will work closely with experienced staff to develop your teaching and learning skills, and you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities.

You will be working in a busy and dynamic school environment, supporting teachers and children in a variety of settings. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team, and you will be required to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
